NMACDA Youth All-State Festival
The Youth All-State Festival is presented by the New Mexico American Choral Director's Association (NMACDA). It is an opportunity for young singers to perform challenging music in a highly selective ensemble. Being selected to participate in All-State is a huge honor.
There are two Youth All-State Choirs. The Elementary All-State Choir is made up of students in grades 4-6. The Youth All-State Choir is made up of students in grades 7-9. This event is often confused with the State Choir Contest. The State Choir Contest is a competition. All-State is an intensive educational weekend for choir students from across the state. The Youth All-State Festival usually takes place at the Las Cruces Convention Center in late January. All-State participants get to experience a fun overnight trip with their peers. There is a fee for this trip, but the Boosters try to keep the costs low so that every student selected for this honor can participate. EMS Choir has not participated in All-State since the 2019-202 school year, but we hope to participate again this year! |
