Music Performance & Assessment (MPA)
The APS District Music Performance & Assessment Festival (MPA) is an event for curricular choirs from Albuquerque to perform and receive comments and ratings from experienced choral judges. The festival takes place during the day and will excuse students from classes for part of the day. This performance is regarded as the most important of the entire year. It is the district-wide standardized testing equivalent for APS choir programs. Friends and families are welcome to attend.
Each Curricular Choir ensemble will perform three pieces for a panel of judges. Students will also be tested on their ability to read music. The sight-singing test is done as a group, and Mr. Gonzales spends lots of time in the classroom throughout the year preparing his students for this assessment. 2022-23 Music Performance Assessment Tuesday, March 14 Volcano Vista High School Beginning, Mixed, and Concert Choirs Arrive at EMS at 7:30.
