Concert Choir
Concert Choir is the varsity choral ensemble at Eisenhower. This class works at an accelerated pace developing vocal and choral singing skills, music reading abilities, and elements of musicality. This class is available to 7th and 8th grade students by audition. Concerts Choir performs at the Fall, Winter, Pre-Festival, and Spring concerts, the Music Performance and Assessment (MPA) Festival, and competes in the NMAA State Choir Contest in April. Students are encouraged to participate in the District Solo and Ensemble Festival, EMS Choir fundraising events, and the EMS Choir Hummingbird Music Camp retreat in the spring.
Being in Concert Choir requires hard work, dedication, and a larger time commitment than the other two ensembles, so Mr. G asks students who qualify for the class if they truly want to be in it before creating the class list. It's ok to say no! Students in 7th and 8th grade who prefer a more relaxed choir experience should choose to be in Mixed Choir. |
